Shingle Roof Leak Repair in Van Voorhis, PA

Shingle Roof Leak Repair in Van Voorhis, PA

A leak in a shingle roof rarely shows up right under the spot that failed. Water gets in at a nail hole, a cracked tab or a gap in step flashing, then runs down the top of the deck or along a rafter before it drips onto the ceiling. Finding the real entry point is most of the job.

Van Voorhis, PA Shingle Roof Repair connects homeowners in Van Voorhis, PA with shingle roof repair crews who trace leaks from the attic side first. They look for dark trails on the underside of the decking, rusty nail tips and wet insulation, then match that to what is above on the shingle surface.

Common sources on asphalt shingle roofing:

• Exposed nails on the top course or ridge, with the sealant long gone
• Cracked or missing shingles near a valley
• Pipe boot collars that have split in the sun
• Step flashing behind siding that was never lapped correctly

Once the source is found, the crew lifts the shingles around it, repairs or replaces the underlayment, and puts the shingles back with new nails and sealant.
